Last week my wife and I took my sons to the ANF trails at Timberline. I had asked Jim Campbell about trails for kids and he has really given me some great advice. When I was registering my atvs, two Venango chapter members saw my flags and made sure they introduced themselves to me. (Unfortunately, at the time I had made a mistake with some copies and was concerned with being able to get the permits so I don't remember their names.) Finally, I was out on the trails and my son's atv needed a chain repair. We were on our way back to the Forest Lodge on a fairly steep hill which concerned my son and we were a little confused about where we were headed. A member named Jesse (I think from Venango) saw I was towing my son and introduced himself. Jesse stayed with my son on the hill so he would be more comfortable and then helped us find the trail back to the Forest Lodge. I told him we were okay but he told me "Atv Traction never leaves a member behind." I just wanted to thank all of these people for taking the time to assist some new guys. By the way, we stayed until yesterday and and my kids just kept telling me they were having a blast. Now they are asking for new atvs. |
